The West Lothian Toy Appeal (WLTA) is one of a range of initatives managed by River Kids - a registered charity which raises money for disadvanted children across West Lothian. The Toy Appeal was established in 1984 and since inception, has provided toys for over 42,000 children.
The WLTA provides toys at Christmas - and on special occasions - to those children identified/referred to us as being in most need of assistance. Referrals originate from various sources such as Citizens Advice Bureaus, Health Visitors, Social Workers, Family Centres and Homeless Units.
Last year, over 6,000 toys were distributed to children in West Lothian and still, we were not able to reach all those children in need. This year, with your support, we will be able to help even more.
So we need to raise funds for new toys and appeal to the West Lothian community to donate new and good quality, second hand toys.
